Another fall, another pair of interns are settling in to the working environment of the Finnish Institute in Hungary. Meet Alexandra and Sanni!
Svenska Kulturfonden’s intern, Alexandra, arrived mid-August and will be working at the institute for 11 months, during which she will support the planning and realisation of the Institute’s events, as well as assist in communication and social media maintenance. She enjoys second-hand shopping, taking dance classes and listening to true-crime podcasts. Alexandra finished her bachelor’s degree in social psychology earlier this summer, not long before arriving in Budapest.
Sanni on the other hand is an EDUFI-intern who started at the beginning of September and will continue to work at the institute until the end of February 2024. Sanni’s main focus is in organising next year’s Finn Filmnapok as well as assisting with communication and general office tasks. Sanni is a full-time movie fan, occasional photo- and videographer as well as a bachelor of social sciences. Alongside the internship at FinnAgora they are writing their master’s thesis in the field of gender and media studies.
“This is the first time in Hungary for the both of us, but we have already been enjoying the city, its beautiful architecture and abundant culture. FinnAgora has given us a very warm welcome and instantly made us both feel like part of the team. It has already been a joy to be able to take part in such interesting events and projects and we truly feel like we have learnt a lot in such a brief time. We cannot wait what the rest of our internships are going to introduce us to!”, says Alexandra and Sanni.
