Autumn has arrived at FinnAgora, which also means the arrival of new interns.

Cecilia is starting an 11-month internship supported by Svenska Kulturfonden, and Saaga will start her 6-month EDUFI training at FinnAgora.

“I am Saaga Kaján, a recent graduate with a Master's degree in Economics. My main task during my internship will be to organize the Finn Filmnapok film festival in February 2025. I have long been interested in film and have actively participated in various film festivals in Finland and abroad. I am looking forward to the opportunity to see the whole process of film festivals, from the selection of films to their screening. Last year in Iceland, I made my first short film together with friends, which opened up a new perspective on the world of film for me.

I am looking forward to the opportunity to explore Budapest and the experiences it offers. I am particularly interested in the work of the Finnish Institute and how Finnish culture is promoted internationally. Budapest is an excellent place for a film and culture lover to spend the next six months exploring the local cultural scene.”

“My name is Cecilia Fewster and I am happy to introduce myself as one of the new interns starting at FinnAgora this August. A student of sociology, I have just completed my master’s thesis on the topic of cross-cultural encounters, including on the value of culture as a medium for facilitating constructive and reciprocal intercultural dialogue. In Finland I have also worked with the migration themes in the field of integration, where I for example have coordinated a cross-cultural mentoring programme and hosted multilingual social events. Since such intercultural encounters are a central part of the work at FinnAgora, I am excited to learn from the warm FinnAgora team and to start working with the various projects planned for the 2024-25 season!

At FinnAgora, my job tasks will include coordinating the TelepART mobility programme, handling communications, event production and more. I look forward to meeting experienced Finland-enthusiasts and the newly curious alike, as well as various artists and our local collaboration partners – little by little gaining insight into the Hungarian language and the country’s cultural richness.”
