SOPPA-restaurant serves Finnish delicacies on the Restaurant day on 16th April
The legendary SOPPA pop-up restaurant by Team Finland in Hungary will open its doors already for the 4th time on 16th of May at 12.00. The restaurant which will be open on the yard of the Finnish Embassy in Budapest serves many different kind of Finnish delicacies as well as offers interesting program for the whole family.
In addition to the legendary SOPPA’s salmon soup we offer our guests this year sweet berry pie, traditional Karelian pies baked at the premises and other delicacies. The salmon soup and berry pie will be cooked by students who study hotel and restaurant management at Tampere University of Applied Sciences. This year we cooperate also with Hungarian Fekete café which will serve its amazing coffees to our customers.
Besides the great food Soppa restaurant provides interesting program for both adults and children. While the grown-ups enjoy their outdoor lunch listening to live accordion music by Merja Ikkelä and poetry readings by Ilpo Tiihonen the children can try their skills in catching little treasures. All top of this the visitors have a chance to shop at a flea market which will be open during the whole day on the yard of the Embassy of Finland.
The SOPPA restaurant will open on 16th of May at 12.00 and we serve food as long as it lasts. The restaurant is opened by Finnagora, Embassy of Finland and Finpro.
In order to honour Finland’s this year’s Eurovision representative Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät, which is a punk band consisting of four mentally handicapped men, Finnagora will donate a share of the profit raised by the SOPPA restaurant for Mosoly Otthon Alapítvány foundation, which organizes cultural activities for mentally handicapped children.
