European Language Cocktail Bar 2025

EUNIC Hungary (the umbrella organization of European cultural institutes operating in Hungary) and the European Commission's Directorate-General for Translation are organizing the European Language Cocktail Bar again this year to celebrate European linguistic and cultural diversity on the European Day of Languages.

The aim of the event is to

• raise awareness of the importance of language learning,
• highlight Europe's linguistic diversity, and
• offer visitors fun and entertaining activities and language practice lessons

Visitors are welcome to complete language-related tasks at the tables of the participating institutions, have the opportunity to chat with native speakers, and receive a symbolic European Language Passport. Participants in the language learning game will be entered into a raffle for prizes offered by the cultural institutes. In parallel with the language tour, visitors will have the opportunity to take part in 20-minute trial language lessons. The event is supported by the European Commission.

PROGRAM

14:00 Welcome speech
14:10–17:30 Games and interactive activities, and interesting information at various stands
14:30–17:30 Mini language lessons – Try out one or more foreign languages!
Until 17:30 You can request a raffle ticket at the raffle stand if you have collected the required number of stamps
17:45 Prize draw – Win valuable prizes offered by the organizers
