In the beginning of August two new interns started their internships at FinnAgora.

Hanna-Mari Ristimäki will work as an EDUFI intern until the end of December. She will be assisting with the preparations for next year’s Finn Filmnapok festival as well as with FinnAgora’s communications.

Mirjam Ekelund is a Svenska Kulturfonden intern. She will support FinnAgora’s event management and FinnAgora’s 20th anniversary preparations until the end of June 2022.

Both new interns are looking forward to new challenges. Hungary is a new country to both of them, although Ristimäki has visited Budapest before.

“I feel both nervous and excited jumping into a new country and a new culture”, Ekelund says. “As an intern I hope to learn more about the practices of the cultural field. FinnAgora provides an excellent opportunity for that.”

“Hungary is a very interesting country, and getting to know a new culture from the viewpoint of a resident is always a rewarding process”, Ristimäki adds. “The past years have been tough on the cultural field. I am excited to see what we can accomplish this year.”

Ekelund studies social psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Helsinki. Ristimäki has a Master’s degree in Finnish language from Tampere University.
