FinnAgora got a new director on February 1st when Eero Yrjö-Koskinen (Master of Political Sciences) took the position over from Cita Högnabba-Lumikero, who led the institute for over five years.
Yrjö-Koskinen says he is excited to start his new duties. “So far FinnAgora has focused on diverse cultural programme. We will hold onto the established events such as Finn Filmnapok, which starts this week, and others like it. However, I would like to broaden our collaborations to local companies, NGOs, sister cities and congregations,” Yrjö-Koskinen says.
"Hungary is a new and interesting operational environment for me. The goal is to build FinnAgora to a nationally known operator in Hungary and neighbouring countries. This requires more partners and sponsors from different fields. Time will tell how these plans actualize”, Yrjö-Koskinen notes.
Previously Yrjö-Koskinen has served as a sustainability expert for the Finland Chamber of Commerce in Helsinki, an executive director for Green Budget Europe in Brussels, an executive director for The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation in Helsinki, and an official for the European Parliament in Brussels. He has also worked for the UN Drug Control Programme in Bolivia.
Yrjö-Koskinen is married and he has two grown children.
