The Finn Filmnapok, or The Finnish Film Days was organized 15.-19. of February 2023. The festival was held for the 12th time, and it attracted almost 1200 viewers to the Toldi Mozi movie theater.
This year the opening film was Alli Haapasalo’s Girl Picture (2022). The screening was sold out, and afterwards one of the main actors, Aamu Milonoff, answered questions from the audience, charming the people in the cinema hall.
We also had the pleasure to have Saila Kivelä and Vesa Kuosmanen, who wrote and directed the documentary Just Animals, as our guests. Together with director Erika Kapronczai they took part in a panel discussion called Activism and Documentary, which was organized in collaboration with Budapest Metropolitan University on Friday the 17th of February.
The film was screened after the discussion, and after the film the audience had the chance to ask questions from Kivelä, Kuosmanen, and Karin Mäkiranta, who composed the music to the film.
