Seminar: Perspectives on multilingualism in Finnish schools
Time: Friday 18.10 at 12:15-16:30
Place: Embassy of Finland, Kelenhegyi út 16/a, 1118 Budapest
The Finnish school system has long been known worldwide for the high quality of its teaching and its teaching methods. However, few people know about the multilingual nature of the Finnish education system or Finland's status as a bilingual country.
How does the education system of a country with two national languages work and what does practical work in a multilingual and multicultural school look like?
In Hungary, the teaching of minority languages and their status in education differs from Finland's bilingualism, but there are many similarities in terms of multilingualism. How do you work with minority languages in schools in Hungary and what does multilingualism look like in practice?
Through lectures, discussions and a workshop, we want to share knowledge, experiences and tools with professionals working on multilingualism in schools.
The seminar will last about 4h, we will also offer coffee/tea and snacks.
Registration for the event is obligatory. Please note the event will be held in Hungarian.
