Finland’s official Oscar nominee for 2017 The Happiest Day In The Life Of Olli Mäki, directed by Juho Kuosmanen, is seen in several Hungarian cinemas on the European Art Cinema Day on the 9th of October. In Budapest the National Movie Theatre Uránia screens the movie at 7 pm, and the screening is followed by two Finnish short films. The evening continues with a Finnish theme and interesting discussions.
The Happiest Day In The Life Of Olli Mäki has been awarded several times already, including at the Cannes Festival, and it is one of the most talked about Finnish films at the moment. All in all three movies were chosen to be part of the European Art Cinema Day programme in Hungary. European Art Cinema Day is a major cinema event organized by CICAE (International Confederation of Art Cinemas), and it is now held for the first time. It takes place in more than a thousand European cinemas. In future the European Art Cinema Day will take place every autumn.
