Human rights documentaries: Niina Brandt and her winner documentary as guest of the Verzió Film Festival

My Secret Forest tells the story of autistic Lauri. He is not able to talk and expresses himself in writing, communicating with his helper Pirjo. The texts give glimpse into Lauri’s world and show what it is like to be a young man behind autism spectrum disorder. The forest is the place where Lauri is able to think.

The first documentary of Niina Brandt deals with the dreams, challanges and everyday life of a young, growing man and the walls separating people. It also handles questions about normality. Director Niina Brandt visits the Verzió Film Festival, more information soon on Verzió’s website.
