Finnish designers exhibit at Made in Hungary+MeeD
DESIGN WITHOUT BORDERS exhibition organised by Made in Hungary and MeeD brings to Budapest works by Finnish designers 31 March – 7 May 2017. At the exhibition will be exhibited works by Hanna Anonen, Hanna Särökaari, Mikko Lanne and Riku Toivonen. In addition to the Finnish designers the exhibition consists of design from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and The Czech Republic. The exhibition is part of the Budapest Spring Festival which is one of the biggest cultural event in Hungary. Made in Hungary design festival is being organised this year for the twelfth time and MeeD (Meeting of European and Central European Designers) is collaborating with Made in Hungary for the fift time.
Hanna Anonen has a bachelor degree in carpentry and industrial design in Lahti Institute of Design and a master’s degree in applied art and design at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture. She has exhibited her works in design and furniture fairs, e.g. in Beirut Design Week, Stockholm Furniture Fair and Habitare in Helsinki.
Hanna Särökaari is a designer based in Helsinki. Currently she is studying a master’s degree in furniture design at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture. She is a member of Luomo collective that was awarded in the Muoto 2016 with a Promise award for good design. She has exhibited her works in design and furniture fairs, e.g. Habitare, Stockholm Furniture Fair and in Milan, Salone Satellite.
Riku Toivonen and Mikko Lanne gratuated from Lahti Institute of Design in Furniture Design in 2016. They designed together Tuohinen sofa which will be part of the Design Without Borders exhibition. The collaboration led to Tuohinen product family as a diploma work. Toivonen’s personal work Nykänen and Taneli Kakkonen will be exhibited in Budapest as well.
