Artists´ freedom of expression and responsibility in contemporary society 29.5.
Art has the ability to express not only resistance and rebellion, but also hope and empowerment. Art has always been a sensitive catalyst for social and political change. It is unique in its capacity to provide the tools and platforms that can lead to advocacy, action, and change. An increasing amount of artists are commenting and taking a stance on recent developments in Europe and other parts of the world through their work. At the same time, their right for the freedom of expression is under threat in many countries.
At the discussion evening three professionals will talk about the artists´ freedom of expression and responsibilities in today´s changing Europe–and beyond.
