DUAL exhibition by Jussi Niva and Zsófi Barabás in Budapest

In the prestigious Faur Zsófi Gallery opens the exhibition called OFFSPACE – The Art of Infinite Space by Finnish artist Jussi Niva and Hungarian artist Zsófi Barabás.

Jussi Niva, who graduated from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts1989, works with paintings that challenge the border between two and three-dimensional. This particular technique makes the geometrical shapes of his paintings to change depending on where the viewer is standing. Niva´s paintings were exhibited already in 1992 at Documenta, one of the most important contemporary art exhibitions in Europe. After that he has had numerous exhibitions all over Europe.

Zsófi Barabás, born 1980, studied in the Hungarian Academy Fine Arts but also in Japan. She has been to Finland for artist residency. An abstract painter using unusual colours and textures, Barabás is a noted member of Hungary’s young generation of artists.

Faur Zsófi Gallery is one the most notable art galleries in Budapest. The gallery's mission is to promote the area's emerging contemporary artists and to integrate them into the international art scene by continuing its increasingly active presence at foreign art fairs, and by forgoing partnerships with other international galleries.

The dual exhibition called OFFSPACE opens for public 24th of November 2018 at Faur Zsófi Gallery, Bartók Béla Út 25, H 1114 Budapest.
